Rich and Delicious Banana Bread

  • 1 cup white sugar

  • ½ cup shortening

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 3 medium ripe bananas

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Lightly grease an 8x4-inch loaf pan.

  2. Beat sugar and shortening with an electric mixer in a mixing bowl until creamy. Sift in flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix in mashed bananas. Pour batter into the prepared pan.

  3. Bake in the preheated oven until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean, about 1 hour.
